Whistler Blackcomb announced that Whistler Mountain will open six days early on Friday, November 18. Blackcomb Mountain will open on Thursday, November 24, Whistler Blackcomb’s official opening day.

Whistler/Blackcomb is saying “The alpine forecast is calling for up to 35 centimeters of snow in the alpine before opening on Friday, adding to the current snow base of 55 centimeters at Pig Alley. Additionally, the Whistler Blackcomb snowmaking team has turned over 50 million gallons of water into snow so far this season, the equivalent of covering 250 football fields with up to one foot of snow.”

Whistler Real Estate Update for October 30, 2011   Leave a comment

We saw 9 sales of Whistler property for the week ending October 30, 2011.  We saw our 6th sale over $4,000,000 for Whistler real estate market this past week.  3815 Sunridge a 5.5 bed/6.5 bath, 5500 sq feet house in the prestigious Sunridge Plateau neighborhood sold for $4,475,000.

We saw two more sales above the $2,000,000 mark.  Giving the Whistler real estate market 23 sales over the $2,000,000 mark for 2011.  5125 Old Gravel Road a 5bed/8bath house adjacent Nita Lake sold for $2,755,000 and 6373 Fairway Drive a 4.5 bed/3.5 bath house in Whistler Cay Heights sold for $2,575,000.

After 3 sales over the million dollar mark for the week, we saw our first below at 18-2250 Nordic Drive in Taluswood, this 3 bed/3 bath townhouse sold for $820,000.  Next was a Blackcomb Benchlands 3bed/2bath townhouse in Treeline.   28-4661 Blackcomb Way sold for $840,000.

We then saw a 5bed/3bath, Pinecrest single family house at 51 Pinecrest Road sell for $725,000.

101-3217 Blueberry Drive in the Ironwood was our first condo sale of the week.  This renovated 2bed/2bath sold for $480,000.

Our final two sales of the week were a Eaglecrest 2 bed/1 bath, 10-42720 Cheakamus Way sold for $320,000 and our last sale was a Function Junction 2bed/1bath condo at 1375-8 Alpha Lake Road for $267,000.  Click here to view the sold listing details for all these properties.

Whistler Real Estate Update for October 23, 2011   Leave a comment

We saw 10 sales of Whistler property for the week ending October 23, 2011.  Giving us double digit Whistler property sales for 5 of the last 6 weeks.  Our  highest sale for the week was 2212 Gondola Way  a 4.5 bed/3.5 bath duplex in Whistler Creekside for $1,040,000.

Our next highest sale was 39D-4652 Blackcomb Way in the Woods complex sold for $865,000 for this 3bed/2bath.  Originally listed for $1,100,000, this is a clear indication of some of the value Buyers are finding in today’s Whistler property market.  This was followed by another Blackcomb Benchlands townhouse sale in Mountain Star , 28-4894 Painted Cliff Road a 3.5 bed/3 bath for $820,000.

7127 Nancy Greene Drive our only vacant land sale of the week and 1 of only 12 to take place in Whistler for 2011.  This 13,261 sq feet lot on the corner of Nancy Greene and Blackcomb Way sold for $720,000.

Our first Nordic townhouse sale of week 219-2222 Castle Drive this 3bed/2bath unit with a garage went for $598,000.  It sold in just over 2 weeks, after being listed at $608,000.

It was then back up to the Blackcomb Benchlands, just off the slopes of Blackcomb Mountain, 18-4890 Painted Cliff Road this 2bed/2bath sold for $539,000.  Another illustration of the value Buyers are finding.  This property listed in March 2011 for $675,000.

A Whistler orginal 14-2400 Cavendish Way in the poplar Whiski Jack complex, this 3bed/2 bath sold for $484,000.  We then saw a neighboring 2 bed/2bath i32-2544 Snowridge Crescent in Snowridge sell for $410,000.  Our last sale townhouse sale for the week was in Nordic Court 2 bed/1 bath, 402-2101 Castle Drive sold for $379,000.
